Spring 2022

Bannock making.
The class revisited the skills necessary for lighting a fire and had the opportunity to make up and cook some bannocks to enjoy by the fire in our outside area.
Mark's Ark
As part of our Science week we had a visit from Mark and some of his animals. The children really enjoyed themselves and had then chance to ask lots of interesting questions and handle the animals.
As part of our Ancient Greece topic we explored the theme of democracy and what it looked like in Athens. We had a debate in our class about encouraging wildflowers and food for bees in the countryside and various children offered points of view. At the end we had a show of hands in true Athenian style.
We had a visit from the Minack Theatre and and the children got the chance to discover parts of William Shakespeare's The Tempest and to perform extracts to each other.
The children held a yellow and blue day in connection with the Ukraine Appeal and raised money for the cause.
For the last three years there has not been a carnival so it was lovely for the children to have the opportunity to design the front cover once again and for the winner to awarded a lovely prize.
The St. Breward Carnival mayor and mayoress were also chosen.
