This term our class have been studying the 'Stone Age'. This topic has allowed the children to take a step back in time and learn about life in the stone age and understand how humans would have survived during this period. We went on a class trip to Carnglaze caverns, this was an excellent experience which allowed the children to go underground in the magnificent caves and to complete various Stone Age activities such as weaving, cave paintings and making shelters.
The children have been classifying rocks, making sedimentary rocks and linking all of this knowledge to their dance lessons in PE. They have been making dance sequences to represent the process of rock becoming soil.
During our weekly Art lessons, the children have made their own cave painting using pastels and designed and made Stone Age jewellery.
