Welcome to Seahorses Class.
Our class is a mixed aged class with children in Year reception 1 & 2. We cover all areas of the National curriculum as well as incorporating active learning sessions both inside and outside of the classroom.
We encourage the children to ask questions about the topics we cover and develop a sense of curiosity about their learning.
Our Class Teachers are Miss Simpson and Mrs Rowe. We are lucky enough to have 2 fantastic Teaching Assistants; Mrs Richards and Mrs Prout.
The children in our class enjoy weekly outdoor learning sessions. We explore our outdoor learning area through a range of cross curricular activities. The children particularly like lighting fires, constructing with natural resources and playing in the mud kitchen.
Each term we visit the local woods and we love to play games, build dens and enjoy hot chocolate around the fire.
Each morning the whole class join in with Active Start sessions. The children join in with a range of activities for 15-20 minutes. They particularly enjoy throwing and catching games, chasing games and dance based activities.
This year our Reception children access continuous provision in both Seahorses class and Turtles class. Direct teaching sessions are delivered in Seahorses by the class teacher and teaching assistants.
We ensure that our learning environment is rich and stimulating, providing the children with variety of resources to use and explore. We are passionate about providing rich learning opportunities through both child-initiated and adult-led activities.
