St Breward Community Primary School

School Council

Our School Council

At St. Breward Primary school we believe it is vitally important that all our children have the opportunity to contribute their ideas and opinions about life in the school.

What is a School Council?

Our School Council is made up of 1/2 representatives from every year group. They meet on a fortnightly basis on Tuesday. Children on the school council discuss a variety of suggestions and ideas to improve our school, as well as organising events to raise money for charity. Some of their roles include:

  • Listening to the views and concerns of other pupils
  • Representing the views and opinions of other children and discussing them
  • Suggesting ideas to improve the school
  • Thinking of ways to contribute to our wider community
  • Fundraising for a selection of charities
  • Having the responsibility for a budget
  • Interviewing prospect staff to join our school

Red Nose Day

In aid of Comic Relief, our school council put their heads together and came up with some great fundraising ideas. They asked the children to dress in red for a small donation and also orchestrated a bake sale, all together raising a grand total of £110!!
