Welcome to Seahorses Class.
Our class is a mixed aged class with children in Year reception 1 & 2. We cover all areas of the National curriculum as well as incorporating active learning sessions both inside and outside of the classroom.
We encourage the children to ask questions about the themes we cover and develop a sense of curiosity about their learning.
Our Class Teachers are Miss Simpson and Miss Bonser. We are lucky enough to have 2 fantastic Teaching Assistants;  Mrs Colman and Mrs Prout.

We Love to Learn

Each half term we plan our curriculum around a theme. We are passionate about giving the children as many experiences as possible to promote their love for learning. The children receive daily phonics or GPS, English and Maths lessons. Lots of our learning is practical and we encourage the children to ask questions, explore and problem solve.
Our other lessons include R.E, PSHE, Music, P,E, Science, Art and Design History, Geography and Cornish.

We recognise the importance of learning through play in EYFS, therefore the  Reception children can access continuous provision in both Seahorses class and Turtles class. We utilise the space we have and provide a range of learning areas, such as; construction, home corner, reading areas, creative stations, role play and many more.
We ensure that our learning environment is rich and stimulating, providing the children with a variety of resources to use and explore. We are passionate about providing rich learning opportunities through both child-initiated and adult-led activities.
The children in Reception have a carefully planned timetable including daily phonics and Maths lessons. Other direct learning sessions are based upon the EYFS areas of learning- communication and language, Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Gross motor, Fine motor, Expressive Arts and Design and Understanding of the World.
