• Thursday 7 May 2026 The Lost Gardens of Heligan 🌿 The Lost Gardens of Heligan 🌿 Earlier this week, we took the whole school for a trip to the Lost Gardens of Heligan 🪵🌲 Seahorses class began their new science topic 'Plants and Microhabitats', with a brilliant workshop about wildflowers and pollinators. The children enjoyed finding and classifying a variety of wildflowers in the beautiful grounds 🌸🪷🌼 Dolphins class enjoyed a fascinating workshop learning about beavers. They ventured down to the wetland area and could see the dam the beavers had built and the lodge that they live in 🦫 Turtles class had a very fun day exploring Heligan! They enjoyed going on an adventure to find the big fox, spotting all the different animals and had the best time bouncing on the jumping pillows! ☺️ See less
• Friday 27 March 2026 RNLI Water Safety Assembly Last week, we were delighted to be joined by the 'RNLI - Meet the Lifeguards' who came and delivered a water safety assembly to the children
• Wednesday 11 March 2026 Cross Country Huge well done to our amazing cross country runners for their effort and determination at yesterday's event! They all showed great resilience and sportsmanship!
• Monday 9 March 2026 Visit from Local MP We were delighted to host Ben Maguire, our local MP. He visited us to find out more about our wonderful small school up here on Bodmin Moor and to talk about inclusion, something that is especially relevant given the release of the government’s White Paper on inclusion a couple of weeks ago.
• Thursday 5 March 2026 World Book Day & St Piran's Day What a brilliant day we had, celebrating WBD and St Piran's Day. The children loved coming to school dressed as their favourite character form a book - it was wonderful to see so much creativity!

• Wednesday 11 February 2026 Screech Owl Sanctuary Just before Half Term, Seahorses class visited the Screech Owl Sanctuary. 🦉🦊🐾
• Monday 9 February 2026 Handbells Recently, our year 1 and 2 children had some wonderful visitors from the local hand bell group. The children enjoyed exploring the different sounds of the bells and they did a fantastic job of following the music to play some well known rhymes

• Friday 14 November 2025 Children In Need ⭐️ As a tiny school we have raised the most amazing amount of money, a grand total of £70.97. On top of this, the children have all been having a fantastic time. They have all been trying different Children in Need activities, from Joe Wicks P.E. to special Children in Need maths and reading. Once again thank you so much for all your generosity ⭐️
• Tuesday 11 November 2025 Remembrance We couldn't be prouder of the children today. We attended the remembrance service at the war memorial and the children's behaviour was exemplary. They have done themselves, yourselves and the school proud. It was a lovely opportunity for the children to connect with the local community and learn the importance of remembrance.
• Thursday 23 October 2025 Halloween Fancy Dress 🎃🦇✨We have absolutely loved our Halloween Fancy Dress day! The children and staff have gone all out with their Halloween costumes and have enjoyed a day of Halloween themed learning. Our wonderful PTA have very kindly donated the funds to revamp our school library and we are incredibly grateful for their very generous and continued support. Today’s donations from our Halloween Fancy Dress day will be going towards the finishing touches. (Library reveal coming soon!) 🎃🦇✨
• Thursday 2 October 2025 Harvest Festival 2025 ✨ The whole school walked up to St Breward Church to meet Reverend Robin and to celebrate Harvest Festival. The children hung their prayers and wishes on the prayer tree and we delivered our food bank donations. Reverend Robin spoke to the school about why Harvest is celebrated in the church and he answered lots of inquisitive questions from the children. Thank you for the generous food donations, these will be added to the church collection and delivered to the local food bank ✨
• Wednesday 24 September 2025 Junior Life Skills Our year 5's and 6's went to Bodmin fire station for a junior life skills event. This was a great afternoon for all, with the children learning a variety of different ways to help themselves and others to stay safe.
• Wednesday 9 July 2025 Circus Skills Day 🎪 CIRCUS SKILLS 🎪 The children were absolutely thrilled with their end of year treat, very kindly organised by our incredible PTA. The children enjoyed an amazing show followed by circus skills workshops! Thank you so much to our PTA for making opportunities like this possible.
• Wednesday 25 June 2025 Residential 2025 Dolphins Class enjoyed their residential to Bath & Bristol. During their 3 day adventure, the children visited Longleat Safari Park, The Roman Baths, We the Curious Museum and enjoyed a walking tour of Bath. They all had a wonderful time!
• Wednesday 11 June 2025 Sports Day 2025 We recently had our sports day and what a success it was! We also couldn't have been luckier with the weather! The children all took part in a number of field activities then competed in various races. The support from families was also incredible.
• Thursday 8 May 2025 Music - Brass Instruments This term, Dolphins Class are enjoying weekly brass lessons, delivered by Cornwall Music Service Trust.
• Monday 28 April 2025 RNLI Visit We were delighted to be joined by the 'RNLI - Meet the Lifeguards' who came and delivered a water safety assembly to the children. They focused on giving the children an understanding of water safety, enabling them to identify problems that may occur in, on and around the water. We believe this is such important information for the children to be learning 🌊

• Thursday 6 March 2025 World Book Day We recently celebrated World Book Day, and we had a great time recognising our love of reading! The children dressed as a character from their favourite book and enjoyed reading together in groups across the whole school, sharing their favourite books and stories
• Tuesday 25 February 2025 Wild Tribe Outdoor Learning We are delighted to be being joined this half term by Arena who are delivering Wild Tribe Outdoor Learning sessions to both KS1 and Ks2.
• Tuesday 25 February 2025 Fabulous Flags We were joined by Fabulous Flags last term, who came in and held a workshop with the children to create their own designs for a flag to be displayed in Bodmin. We are very proud of the children's hard work and beautiful designs.
• Friday 24 January 2025 The Royal British Legion We were delighted to receive a certificate from The Royal British Legion this week to acknowledge our efforts in fundraising towards the Poppy Appeal. Thank you everyone for your generous donations.
